What is a weave?
Good question! A weave (or bundles) is hair weft that is sewn into braided hair. Hair stylists and customers alike have made this a popular hair method because the hair can be styled into a preferred look, and it is virtually undetectable. There are many different textures and styles of weave, allowing this to be a look for anyone—and any occasion.
Lustro Hair’s high-quality Remy hair textures:
- Remy Straight or Yaki Straight (+Blonde)
- Body Wave, Deep Wave, or Loose Wave
- Kinky Curly
- The Lustro Hair bundles of your choice (plus closure or frontal, if applicable)
- A weaving needle and thread
- A pair of scissors
Step-by-step installation* (most common):
Please ensure your Lustro Hair bundles have been washed prior to installation
After thoroughly washing, conditioning and blow drying, stylists typically will braid a client’s hair in a “beehive” — a circular motion — for breathability and compactness. As a result of this, you will have a more full look and a much flatter lay for your hair.
Next, take a weaving needle (curved shape) and thread. The needle will go through both the weave extensions, as well as the braids in your natural hair. Start from the left, and weave all the way to the right. When you reach the end of the braid on the right side, cut the extension and tighten with the needle and thread.
Note: If using a closure/frontal, be sure to sew this down first; it will help you know how many bundles you will need to use. If leaving out part of your natural hair, be sure to blend with your weave using protective oils and a flat iron to allow the hair to lie flat, curl or wave (depending on the texture).
*Steps may vary as stylists have different methods of installing weave extensions
Hair care tips, post-installation:
After installation, be sure to wrap your hair with a scarf for long-lasting results. Also, apply a light oil to keep the bounce and body of your Lustro Hair bundles!
